In 1990, while still a monk in Burma, Steve Armstrong (then known as U Buddharakkhita) met Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw, stayed with him at the Gold Cave Hermitage to practice for a couple weeks and wrote of his experience upon returning to the USA.
